Mrs. Darlene Houtz is a dedicated and compassionate educator with a strong passion for helping students thrive both academically and personally. She graduated summa cum laude from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology and brings a unique blend of technical expertise and teaching experience to the classroom.

 

Darlene began her teaching career in elementary education, spending three years teaching 3rd grade and one year in Pre-K. These formative years helped her develop a nurturing, student-centered approach that continues to guide her teaching today. She currently teaches middle and high school math and science at TCCA, where she encourages students to think critically, build confidence in complex subjects, and explore how math and science apply to everyday life.

 

Outside the classroom, Darlene is an active member of the Seabrook Church of Christ and values the important role faith plays in both her personal and professional life. She is also the proud mother of three high school-aged children, Quinn, Adele, and Isabel, who continually inspire her. In her free time, she enjoys woodworking and traveling, hobbies that reflect her creativity and love for hands-on learning and exploration.

 

With a heart for teaching and a lifelong commitment to learning, Darlene Houtz is honored to walk alongside her students in their educational journey.
