🏀"Eagles Win Last Game, Secure Championship!" - by Jake Wagner ('25), student journalist🏀

The Eagles🦅 took on the Jesse Remington Sentinels in the finals yesterday, winning 56-41. Prior to this matchup, the Eagles had not won against the Sentinels, but they brought their A-game, leaving their blood, sweat and tears out on the court, all three for senior Connor Baldiga who had to leave in the beginning of the 4th quarter with an eyelid laceration. The Eagles jumped to an early lead and kept it until the end, led in scoring by Connor and sophomore Jonathan Dubois with 11, followed by senior Jesse Hyzer and junior Jake Wagner pitching in 8 each. The defense is what won the game for the most part, with the Triple J backcourt of Jonathan, Jevera, and Jake securing the perimeter and getting steals for transition buckets, and the Senior front court of Jesse, Connor, and Declan with special guest Sam locked down the interior, giving the Eagles the fuel to pull off the 15 point win, and getting Tri-City their first boys championship in 6 years! After their win, the hyped up team had a 5 star celebration meal at Wendy's and got a police escort back to the school. Congratulations boys!
