An Important Update from the Head of School

WE’RE READY!  (Well, almost ready.)

August 19, 2021

Dear TCCA Families, Faculty, and Staff:

The Lord Jesus has been good to TCCA in the filling of all our faculty and staff vacancies with wonderful Christian educators.  Our Pre-Kindergarten teacher will be Mrs. Grace Gundersen, who we already know as our Enrollment Director.  Grace will be continuing her good work building our school’s enrollment, but her main calling will be lovingly instructing our younger Kindergarten Department students.   She brings years of teaching and missionary experience to this position, and she is looking forward to this new opportunity.

Our new Second Grade teacher will be Mrs. Tamari  Nduaguibe.  (Any students properly pronouncing her name on their first try will automatically be promoted to the Third Grade.)  Tamari has literally taught in Christian schools all over the world.  And now God has led her to TCCA!  She has previously used our ABeka curriculum, and she will bring a wealth of experience to this position.

We had a large (and unexpected) gap to fill when God called Rev. Brian Nolder to Oregon to become a seminary leader.  Anyone who knows Brian will readily agree that this new opportunity will align with his gifting and training, but this move vacated the positions of TCCA Music Director, Latin Teacher, High School Mathematics and History Teacher, and International Student Program Coordinator.  All these have been gloriously filled by Mr. Jay MacDougall in the teaching roles and Mr. Andy Edgren in the ISP Coordinator role.

We are working the final details of a remotely taught new elective course in the Chinese Mandarin language to our Middle School and High School students to be taught by Ms. Angeline Hu.

God has certainly been kind to our school by sending us many amazing and gifted teachers with a passion for teaching and a personal love for our students.   I count it a great privilege to work with such teachers each day, and I look forward to your meeting, or seeing again, all these godly Christian professionals during our (in-person!) Open House on Thursday, September 2nd

Sincerely in Christ,

Paul T. Edgar

Head of School

PS: TCCA will fully return to normal procedures when we start school again in September – barring any unforeseen legal or biological developments.  No mask requirements, no cumbersome separation requirements, and a full return to normal classroom usage and scheduling.
