Dress CodeAll students are to dress neatly, cleanly, and modestly for school. They
are to dress in a manner similar to the way they would dress if they were
working professionally in the marketplace. Christians' dress should reflect
our requirement to show love and respect towards our neighbors and should
reflect positively on Tri-City Christian Academy. Teachers will communicate
dress code infractions to the applicable department director. The applicable
department director will make all communication to parents regarding dress
code infractions. Clothing must be worn according to the uniform guidelines found at Educational Outfitters and French Toast. Should you be able to find similar clothing at another store, you are welcome to do this. Please be advised, however, that the style and color must be the same as the clothing choices indicated.
No student is to wear outdoor apparel (including hats, fleece vests, or
pullovers) during or between classes anywhere in the building except on severely
cold days with the teacher's expressed permission. The hoodies (available
through Educational Outfitters) are only allowed on Fridays and for gym. Boys' hair should be neat and trimmed and generally be shorter than girls' hair. I Corinthians 11:14. Conformance to all dress code standards is required from the time the student arrives at school until they depart, unless notification is made otherwise or unless the student has been involved in a school athletic event or practice, or for special occasions. Of course, students shall not wear athletics cleats in our building. Dress code standards must also be followed for all school functions including evening events whether a student is a spectator or participant. Certainly high school interviews are occasions in which dress code conformance should not be compromised in any way. Every Friday students in all departments may wear Eagle blue polo shirts, Eagle blue tee shirts, or Eagle blue sweatshirts (over a collared shirt) to show their school spirit. Faculty and staff may choose to wear their Eagle blue shirts also on Fridays. Compliance with the spirit of the dress code as well as the letter has proven to greatly enhance both the academic and the spiritual atmosphere of our school. TCCA faculty is required to comply with the spirit of the student dress code. Certainly the faculty and staff members would not dress more casually than the letter of the dress code although they are not required to comply with the specifics of the dress code. Dress Down Days - Dress code is the norm for most school
days. Occasionally students will be allowed to "dress down" as a
fundraiser for the yearbook or as specified by their department director or
the administrator. All dress down clothing must be modest and in good taste.
Generally, students are allowed to wear jeans and cargo pants. Dress code
collared shirts and polo shirts for elementary and high school. Eagle blue
shirts are allowed! (No other t-shirts or sweatshirts.) Please refer to the
Dress Down announcement flyer for specific details. Click on any of the following links to learn more.
